Bays 135-137, Shannon Free Zone

This development consisted of refurbishment and alterations to the existing buildings of Bay 135 and 137 at Shannon Free Zone, Shannon Airport, Co. Clare. The original buildings consist of a reinforced concrete frame with prestressed large-span rafters and masonry infill walls. The alterations to both Bays 135 and 137 involve extensive refurbishment to the elevations with new cladding and openings to facilitate the new layout.
A new 15m² floor area was constructed at Bay 135 and the subdivision into 3 advanced manufacturing units, consisting of a single-storey industrial floor with an ancillary office area. Works to Bay 137 involved the subdivision into 4 Business Technology and Innovation units.

Other works included alterations to the existing layout with a new access road to serve Bay 135 units, with the provision of 25 new car parking spaces including accessible spaces, set down areas with vehicular & HGV access points to the perimeter of the site, secure bicycle parking spaces, refuse stores with roof level and site level external service areas.
 
A new internal access road and car park with access to the workshops of Bay 135 was constructed.
This project also comprises of the construction of external canopies, new glazing and building façade, internal partitions, minor structural works, drainage works, fit out of new canteen and W.C. with all associated Mechanical and Electrical services.
